Easily the most requested thing currently, in 1.2 we will see support for doors, and other house-building implements made from the much under-serviced resource, logs. This will give you that look you’ve been after: ugly retro-70’s style!
One thing, you may want to auto rotate and connect the doors to surrounding walls, much like stone walls connect to each other-the side door looks kind of ugly!
Unfortunately the way the rendering is done, it only counts for 1 tile per grid. There’s currently no way to make “thin” tiles look good, because all tiles render this underneath it: http://unlok.ca/wayward/images/back.png
This will probably have to wait until a full tile-mapping implementation is in.
(Not played since beta, however…) I think one aspect that needs to be worked on is exposure. Specifically, it is too easy to build a one square island on which to sleep.
Generally I would say putting realism into games is a bad thing, but I think in this case it is necessary, otherwise buildings become simply indulgences and not indispensable.
yay!
Now I won’t have to remove that chunk of wall every morning!

Well, at least it will be coming in the future.

The doors are nice, however I haven’t been able to find a way of picking them up and moving them when expanding a building.
You can use a shovel to pick them back up.
cool, thank you.
